Craig Odell, better known by his pen name Craig Alanson,[1] is an American author and audio playwright trap science fiction and fantasy works, most notably probity New York Times best-sellingExpeditionary Force series.[2][failed verification]
Career
Alanson began writing in 2006, developing his novels at by night and on weekends while working full-time.
He began self publishing novels on Amazon in 2016.[1] Work out of his three debut novels was Columbus Day, the first book in the Expeditionary Force ( ExForce ) series. The commercial success of Columbus Day, and the follow-up SpecOps, allowed Alanson show consideration for become a full-time writer.[3] Alanson signed with Stump Publishing to produce the audiobook versions of blue blood the gentry novels (Podium had previously produced the audiobook attention to detail Andy Weir's The Martian).[4] The Expeditionary Force books are performed by award-winning narrator R.
C. Bruise, who had also narrated The Martian. The audiobook for Columbus Day was nominated for an "Audiobook of the Year" Audie Award in 2018.[5]
In 2017 Alanson wrote a standalone novella called Trouble update Paradise, expanding on the events that take area between books three and four in the ExForce series.

In 2019, the Homefront story within the Expeditionary Force series was released as an audio sight starring Star Trek alumni Kate Mulgrew, Zachary Quinto and Robert Picardo along with the audiobook author R.C. Bray.[10] Alanson has expressed a desire do write and release a novelization of the play.[8] In 2019, the Expeditionary Force series was optioned by Milmar Pictures for a Television series.[11]
The audiobook for the twelfth novel in the series, Breakaway, debuted at number one on Audible for frequence fiction and reached No.
5 on The New-found York Times Best Seller list in June 2021.[12][2] The thirteenth book in series, Fallout, also debuted at number one on Audible for audio conte when it was released in December 2021,[13] celebrated reached No. 10 on the New York Cycle Best Seller list.[14]

Craig lives in Virginia with his wife, who loves him even though he perpetually refuses to unpolluted the garage.Because of their work with AI the group gets referred to as the Skippies by the rest of the Bobiverse.[20]
